Erin Coffell - B.A., MACP, R.P.

Registered Psychotherapist

Choosing a therapist is a personal decision, and it is important to find someone you feel comfortable with. Here is a little about me to help you decide if we might be a good fit.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, and an active member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). I earned my B.A. degree in Fine Arts from McMaster University and my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) from Yorkville University. I have completed the Foundations of Theory and Practice Certificate through the Vancouver School for Narrative Therapy (VSNT). I continue to expand my skills through various body-based and trauma-focused trainings.

I have special focuses in chronic illness and pain, relational traumas, identity, and major life transitions. My lived experience with grief and chronic illness informs my capacity to respect the complexity of individual experiences and honour each client’s unique wisdom. I am also a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community and prioritize safety in the therapeutic relationship by adhering to an anti-oppressive, identity-affirming, and depathologizing lens.

I engage a warm, nonjudgmental therapeutic style to learn about my clients’ individual, social, and cultural contexts. I use genuine curiosity, compassion, humour, and creative thinking to build an atmosphere where my clients feel at ease. I provide collaborative, integrative, trauma-informed individual therapy for teens (16+), young adults, and adults.
